For the first time in the young history of A L’ARME!, we’re excited to introduce you to our quadraphonic stage setting at Radialsystem V! Please welcome the gentlemen of Marcus Schmickler and Thomas Lehn to take their seats in the center of the “Saal” surrounded by the listening audience to enjoy an electro-acoustic fusion of the digital and the analogue.

German electronic music revolutionizer Marcus Schmickler runs his own sound production facility called “Piethopraxis” operating from Cologne. He has written numerous pieces for electronic music, chamber ensemble, choir and orchestra, which have been premiered by a variety of renowned ensembles. Next to his musical work with his instrument “computer”, he has also worked on installations and radioplays as well as collaborating vastly in the field of theatre and film.

The legendary modular “EMS Synthi A” is the main profession of the Vienna-based synthesizer wizard Thomas Lehn since 1994. Developed parallel to his work as a pianist, since the early 1990s his major and widely reknown work has been performing and producing live-electronic music. Rooted in the experience of a wide spectrum of musical fields based on his background as an interpreting and improvising pianist in classical-, contemporary and jazz-music and having been involved in numerous other projects like music theatre, dance, multi-media and studio-production, he has been developing an individual language of electronic music that comes 100% analogue in real-time.
